Awards Ceremony in Paris: Lighting Design and an Immersive Evening
WMH Project designed and produced an awards ceremony for 400 guests from a fast-changing industry, in a brand-new venue in southern Paris. The approach: a bold lighting signature, an AI-powered photo experience and responsible catering, all within a controlled budget.
Why choose lighting design as the guiding thread?
Luminous signatures have become a language of their own across many cutting-edge sectors. WMH Project made this creativity the backbone of the ceremony: scenography, video packaging and jingles were designed as one coherent, modern, forward-looking show. The luminous graphic identity runs from the save-the-date to the invitation and onto the stage.
How do you keep a tight budget without sacrificing quality?
The key choice was scenographic pragmatism: selecting a venue whose architecture already delivers the show. The chosen site, recently opened in southern Paris, offers 9 metres of ceiling height and vast volumes, cutting the need for heavy builds. The result: a grand setting for 400 guests within a controlled budget of around €180K excl. tax.
Which touchpoints engage the guests?
Several key elements shape the experience: a photowall (classic or immersive), a collaborative phosphorescent-marker guestbook wall, and hosts and hostesses in a distinctive luminous dress code. A professional TV journalist co-hosts, setting the pace of a broadcast-quality awards show.
How does AI improve photo capture?
The AI-powered portrait system analyses photos in real time and sends them automatically to the right people. Each guest scans a QR code, takes a selfie and accesses their personalised gallery, shareable in one click with event branding. An instant engagement and awareness driver.
How do you make the evening responsible?
The venue's exclusive caterer, ISO 20121 and B Corp certified, serves an aperitif and dinner cocktail aligned with an ethical charter: fighting food waste and recovering waste. The trophies themselves come in a version made of recycled parts, customisable by category. The venue is wheelchair accessible and well connected.
